A message from QSP

QSP_logo_WinCEAlthough many magazines will have started to arrive by now, some titles take a little longer. Families can check on any order they may have a concern about by call 1-800-667-2536. Familes can continue to order throughout the year for themselves, or as a gift...birthdays, mother's day, father's day etc. by visiting qsp.ca.  Adelaide McLaughlin will continue to earn profits with each order made.

Snow Expections

snowman_WinCEAt Adelaide safety is paramount. We want all students to enjoy their recess time playing and socializing in a less structured environment than the classroom; however, with over 300 students on the playground at one time safety guidelines must be followed.

The general "rule" is....."What's on the ground stays on the ground". This means that snow can be used for building structures and people but not snowballs. Students are reminded of this regularly on the announcements and by their teachers.

Also, sliding is permitted during recess when the students follow the procedures below:

1. On you bottoms only.

2. Feet first.

3. One person at a time.

4. Wait for the person at the bottom of the hill to move before going.

5. Sliding is allowed between the cones only and where there is adult supervision.

Please review these expectations with your child(ren

Toboggans

tobogganing_WinCEToboggans and other sliding toys are only allowed on school property during school hours when organized by the classroom teacher for physical education.

Dressing for Winter Weather

2-mittens_WinCENow that the cooler temperatures have arrived, please be sure your children come to school appropriately dressed for the winter. Students will be outside for a period of 40 minutes at lunch recess except on days with extremely cold temperatures, -28 with the windchill. Students should come dressed for the weather. Hats, mittens, scarves, snow pants and boots help protect your children from cold temperatures. Ensure that mittens are heavy enough to protect their hands. Please help us to keep your child safe and comfortable!

Parking Lot Safety
